Past

Jasiel was born to a farmer and his wife, or so he believed for the first sixteen years of his life. The truth was much different than that. His biological mother had been the daughter of a dragon king, who had decided to go out to explore the world outside of his kingdom. He pretended to be human while outside his kingdom--even when he met and married the woman that would become Jasiel's grandmother.

However, his grandmother was not human either. She was an angel. The leader of the malakims. She was tossed from heaven by a lover during the morning star war, or as some might call it the Great rebellion of Lucifer. She was found and nursed back to health by Jasiel's grandfather. Eventually, she reclaimed her place back in heaven, but processed to have a relationship with the man that saved her. They had several children together--neither one telling the other the truth about what they were.

Not everyone was blind to the truth. A demon--Jasiel's father--learned about the life Jasiel's grandmother created with his grandfather. This demon had fallen in love with the sister of Jasiel's grandmother. It was a feeling that this angel shared, but tragedy struck when his father returned to hell to take care of a few things. Humans attacked and removed the angel's wings. Losing their wings is the worse fate for an angel. They become nothing more than a ghoul. The demon not wanting to see his beloved endure this fate decided to kill her.

However, another being had been watching, and appeared just as the demon pulled his blade from the angel's chest. He told the demon that no matter how many times the angel was reborn she will feel the affects of having her wings removed, but will keep her body and soul safe while the demon looked for a cure in exchange he will have to get his beloved sister for him. He did not have to drag her to this being. No he just had to isolate her from others and make her feel worthless, and when the time was right this other being would come and collect her.

The demon agreed, and it was this that brought him to the cozy home she had created with the dragon. He killed all her children, expect for a daughter. He took this girl and turned her into his pleasure slave. She stayed with the demon until she became pregnant with Jasiel. She was heavy with child when she finally managed to escape from the demon, and went into labor upon the steps of the house of the man and woman Jasiel believed were his parent for the first sixteen years of his life.

The farmer and his wife had been inside eating dinner when they heard Jasiel's mother scream. They rushed outside to see what was wrong, and immediately brought his mother inside when they saw what was happening. They helped his mother through the birthing process, but his mother knew that she wasn't going to survive. She pleaded with the couple to raise her son as their own. She never hide the truth of what she and her baby was, but such detail didn't matter to the farmer and their wife. They had tried for years to have a child of their own, but each child didn't make it past birth. There was nothing they wanted more in a world was a child, and so they agreed to do as Jasiel's mother asked. She died soon after, but not before she named her baby.

He had a happy life for the next sixteen years. The farmer and his wife kept their promise and raised Jasiel as their own. They didn't tell him the truth about his heritage, but the truth have a way of revealing itself. His biological father eventually found him. The demon believed that the farmer and his wife were only raising Jasiel until they could sell him to a collector--beings who collect rare and unique items and beings. The demon knew that Jasiel would be something that these collectors would be interested in. Many would just want him simply for whom his grandmother was.

The demon decided to kill them, but not before he forced them to reveal the truth to Jasiel. He attacked while Jasiel was out. He had went to town to sell some crop they had harvested. He had insisted on doing it own. Claiming that this was the only way he can learn how to do it on his own. When Jasiel returned home. He knew something was wrong right away. Everything was too quiet. He grabbed an axe from the barn before making his way into the house.

A horrible sight hit him as soon as he opened the door. His parents were displayed in such a way that should have killed them, but they weren't dead. They were somehow still alive. The demon appeared telling him that the farmer and his wife had lied to him. They weren't his parents. He proceeded to reveal the truth of Jasiel's heritage to him, but it wasn't until the man who had raised him that Jasiel believed the demon. Jasiel stood staring at the people who had raised him for a few moments before taking a step towards them.

What he did next came as a shock to the demon. He told the man and woman who had raised him that it didn't matter if they were related to him by blood. They had raised him, and in his eyes the will always be his mother and father. He told them that he loved them before killing them. After the deed was done, Jasiel turned his attention towards the demon. He asked the demon for his name. The demon gave it to him. After receiving the name Jasiel vowed to find a way to kill him--using the name that the demon had given him to direct this promise to him. This amused the demon, who asked since he was Jasiel's father wouldn't it be better if he said 'Father I will find a way to kill you.'

Jasiel told the demon that he wasn't his father before walking out of the house. He wandered the earth learning how to use the powers that flow within his veins, and being a monster hunter in a manner of speaking. He and the demon crossed paths countless times. The demon attempts to get Jasiel to call him father, but Jasiel refuses. The years drift by until one day Jasiel decides to settle down in a more permanent location. He ends up going to school in order to became a teacher. He stays in the same area teaching until his lack of aging is noticed then he moves to another area, go to school himself to attain a new degree and start the entire process over again. It was during this stage in his life that he met the man that would become his closest friend--a rather difficult dragon by the name of Aisvydas.

Present

Jasiel is a high school literature teacher. He doesn't allow himself to get close to anyone at the school. He knows that eventually the fact he doesn't age will be notice and he will have to move on. He still slays monsters. He has recently met his grandmother, whom in spite not even being half angel he had taken a great deal after--especially power wise.

She helped him better understand these powers. They were abilities that all malakims have. These powers allow him to know a demon no matter what form they take. They allow him to see a person's true nature. Just to name a few.  She went on to explain to him that these were abilities that a malakim will need to do their duty. They are, for a lack of a better phrase, the police of the universe, through there are those that will disagree.
